Gary graduated from Washburn University in Topeka, KS, in 1972. He started working for his father, Alvin Junghans, at Junghans Real Estate & Insurance Agency in 1973. He bought the Agency from Alvin in 1976 and married his wife, LaDonna Thurlow, in 1977. His sons Clint & Matt were born in 1982 and 1985. He sold the Junghans Agency to Clint & Matt in 2010. Between his two sons, he has four grandchildren. For fun, he enjoys traveling and doing all things outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
